Admission to the Integrated M.Phil – Ph. D. programme & Direct Ph. D. programme will be in the following Research Areas :
A candidate may apply for a maximum of two programmes from among the different programmes offered at TISS Mumbai, Hyderabad, Tuljapur and Guwahati campuses.
Candidates can apply for two programmes within one or across more than one campus. The Research Aptitude Test (RAT) can be taken at any one of the chosen campuses on February 09, 2018. The RAT score is valid across campuses and across two choices.
Candidates who apply for more than one campus, if shortlisted, have to travel for Personal interview to both the campuses on designated dates given in this brochure.
The same application form can be used for applying to more than one programme.
Processing fee paid by the candidates will not be refunded if they are found ineligible for the applied programme/s.
Candidates must ensure that application is complete in all respects, including fee payment. Incomplete application forms will not be considered.
Unemployed candidates whose parent’s / guardian's annual income from all the sources for the Financial Year 2016-17 is less than Rs. 2.5 lakhs for SC/ST and Rs. 1 lakh for OBC - NCL (Non Creamy Layer) fulfill the criteria to apply for GOI-PMS sponsored by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment for SC/OBC (NCL) and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for ST students. It is the responsibility of eligible candidates to apply in time for availing scholarships on time. The OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Certificates issued before prior to 31st March 2017 will not considered. Please note that while caste certificate is issued once in a lifetime, the Non Creamy Layer certificate depends on the family income of the candidate in the previous financial year and hence the NCL certificate has to be obtained for the period after 1st April 2017.
Applications received after the due date will not be considered and the processing fee paid will not be refunded.
The last date for submission of application form is January 13, 2018
Candidates must complete the application process in online mode. The online application can be saved at any stage (information entered will remain intact). The candidate can then return to the application by logging in with the respective user name and password at any time before the submission deadline of January 13, 2018. Once the application has been submitted online, candidates can choose the mode of payment of the application fees (Credit card, Debit card or net banking).

Other Backward Class (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate issued after 01-04-2017 by the District Magistrate / Deputy Commissioner / Tahsildar. CERTIFICATES dated before April 1, 2017 will not be considered valid.

Note 1: Candidates applying through the online application form will have to upload the certificates mentioned above. Those who are submitting a hard copy of the application form should post along with the application form the above mentioned documents attested by a School Headmaster or a Principal of College or a Gazetted Officer (refer to Reservation Section on the admission website). Requests received without the above Certificates will be rejected and no communication will be sent in this regard.
Note 2: SC/ST candidates whose annual family income is <=250000 (2.5 lac) and OBC(NC) candidates whose annual family income is <=100000 have to upload Income certificate for the Financial Year 2016-2017 issued by Revenue Officer
Notes: (i) In case of payment by cash deposit in an SBI branch, please note that the SBI will charge Rs. 50/- as their processing fee for each deposit, which cannot be adjusted against the application fee.
(ii) Payments made via demand draft, pay order or any mode other than the above modes is not acceptable and the application will be rejected. No communication to this effect will be sent to such candidates.
(iii) Candidates applying online will be asked to choose between two modes of payment 'Cash' or 'Pyment Gateway' in the online application form. If the preferred mode of payment is 'Cash', a payment challan has to be downloaded from the 'Download Challan' tab. The payment challan will have 3 copies. Deposit the cash amount mentioned on the challan in any branch of State Bank Of India. The bank will return two copies of the challan (Student Copy and TISS Copy) with the banks seal, signature and journal number on it. Candidates have to scan the 'TISS Copy' of the challan, login back to the online application system and upload it.
